This externally curated exhibition by Elizabeth Socci (www.socciartconsultancy.co.uk) will provide the opportunity for Northampton Museum and Art Gallery to showcase the work of a significant Northamptonshire Artist, Brian Mutton.
Although Mutton exhibited within group and society exhibitions at NMAG, as well as solo exhibitions elsewhere, this will be his first solo exhibition at the museum, sadly a posthumous one. The exhibition will consider Mutton’s unique responses to landscapes, interiors and observations of nature, exploring how he seeks to capture the passage of time and show beauty in decay. Many works of art from Mutton’s life catalogue will be for sale at accessible price points and the exhibition will also feature a documentary film about Mutton by fellow artist and friend, John McGowan.
